Ama Foundry | Arabic-Latin Logotype Collab

Recently, I collaborated with my dear friend and Arabic type designer Lara Captan designing the Latin version of her new project called Ama Foundry.

With Ama Foundry’s manifestation, Lara Captan dreams of creating a more experimental, more thoroughly-researched, and more precisely crafted Arabic type landscape together with you.

On her brand new type foundry, Lara publishes Arabic fonts exclusively made in-house, provides custom Arabic type services, and shares knowledge for you to make authentic, powerful, and contemporary designs. 

Lara Captan believes in building upon the graphic legacy of the Arabic script. And she loves supporting future generations of designers in expanding this heritage, questioning it, and creating their own pathway for it. She appreciates imperfection while sometimes forgetting it exists.

This foundry is dedicated and named after Lara’s mother Amale as a homage to continuity and forward-thinking Arab women. It also honors the foundry’s core value of creating warm, inspiring, and long-lasting connections with people.
